Rastak is Coming to Princeton!

March 5, 2025

Rastak, known globally as the “ambassadors of Iranian folk music” will be performing at Princeton's Richardson Auditorium on Wednesday, March 12th.

They will showcase their new album, titled Tales of Earth and Sun, which is sonically unique and culturally explorative. Rastak describes their new album as a “folk music journey through Kurdistan, Lorestan, Balochistan, Hormozgan, and Afghanistan.”

The album features six original songs, telling generational stories through rich melodies. The album cover itself demonstrates the heart of the album: the story of the sun and the earth's roots. Rastak shares that this imagery, along with the album title, “carries the spirit of a place” and centralizes on the idea that “our roots and the sun [give] us life.”

Rastak will perform songs from this album, as well as their others, during their performance at Princeton. The concert will take place on Wednesday, March 12th at Richardson Auditorium. The performance begins at 6pm and will last approximately 2 hours.

Entry to the event is free, and tickets are not required. The performance is open to the public.
