Application for the Sharmin and Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Iran and Persian Gulf Studies postdoctoral research fellowship(s) at Princeton University is currently open and can be accessed via Princeton University’s AHIRE system. The center is looking for scholars focused on relevant fields of Iran and the Persian Gulf in the 19th - 21st century from all academic disciplines in the humanities and social sciences.
The Mossavar-Rahmani Center promotes interdisciplinary approaches to advancing the study of Iran and the Persian Gulf, with special attention to the region's role and significance in the contemporary world. The goal of the program is to support outstanding scholars of Iran and the wider Persianate world at an early stage of their careers and thus to strengthen the field of Iranian and Persian Gulf Studies in the United States and abroad.
Current fellows' research interests span from Iran policy experts in Washington, D.C. and constitutionalism via analysis of the Guardian Council to Iranian student activism in interwar Berlin and the concept of white marriage in Iran. Incoming fellows become immersed in a close-knit community engaged in interdisciplinary scholarship, where ideas and collaborative projects flourish. "The best part of this fellowship is being in community with so many incredible scholars from across disciplines who are dedicated to advancing the modern study of Iran and the Persian Gulf," said Negar Razavi, an Associate Research Scholar with the center.
